The Franciscaines nuns decided to reorganise their activity in more suitable and functional premises and to build a new convent, a vocational school and a nursing school.
They used lands close to polyclinic to implement a building program composed of 52 rental apartments: the "Villa Gabrielle".
They finally proposed to the City of Deauville to buy three buildings with an area of 4,400m2, provided that they preserved the spirit of places marked by heritage, education and sharing.
The financial conditions of sale redressed the project of creating a cultural place for the City, abandoned in 2009 in a context of economic crisis.

A new chapter of the history of these buildings will be written under the initiative of the municipal team. A media library, a museum space, an auditorium and above all… a place of sharing and meeting for everybody.
