Alexis Chabert

Invited to the Books & Music Festival 2017

Alexis Chabert is interested to all forms of drawing: that’s why he loves so much changing style, adding his drawing to screenplays. He always yearns to explore new artistic universes.
After a short and disappointing experience at the Beaux-Arts de Versailles, Alexis decided to enrol at the Conservatoire National de Région de Rueil-Malmaison with the aim of becoming contemporary music composer and teaching classic guitar. A casual opportunity lead him to work in a graphic studio, where he deepened his knowledge as a Rough draft Illustrator. At the same time, he made some comic book projects. One of them retained the attention of Delcourt: the story of Huguette, an old woman harassed by a junkie in the Courbevoie rough area. As this script did not comply with the editorial policy of the era, the project was not published and Alexis signed a fantastic-middle age series (Rogon le Leu) with Didier Convard. He participated with Frédéric Lenoir to the creation of gags in a dedicated page of magazine Le Monde des Religions. He also published Bourbon Street, La faute : une vie en Corée du Nord and Louis de Funès.

Gainsbourg - Editions Jungle:
Serge Gainsbourg, son of Russian immigrants, has revolutionized French music of the 1970s. His deliberately commercial approach, originating from his own failure in text songs, has upset the codes of popular songs.
This fury to win his place in a field that wasn’t his own made him fly too close to the sun. As a result, he started to produce masterpieces.
Serge Gainsbourg, a great poet drowning his childhood dreams in alcohol, reminds us that ambiguous feelings lead nowhere.
