A natural turf tennis club will open soon in Deauville

The Lawn Tennis Club of Deauville, supported by the "Fédération Française de Tennis", will open to everybody in June 2016 (professional players, French promising players, FFT licence holders and occasional players) and host several events.

The Lawn Tennis Club de Deauville will spread over 6 ha at the entrance of Deauville and will be linked to the sea by a bike path, crossing a great environment devoted to sport and leisure (racecourse, Pôle International du Cheval, synthetic football fields, leisure park). It will include:
- 15 natural turf fields, 3 of which devoted to high-level sport and further events, built in compliance with Wimbledon technical specifications, in a green landscape.
- A central court for the organization of events with a capacity of 2,000 temporary galleries’ seats, which can be extended to 6,000 seats to host great events.
- A club-house of more than 600 m2, with facilities and high-quality services, suitable to everybody (locker rooms for professional and not professional players, offices, meeting rooms, relaxation area, restaurant...).

Natural turf fields will be open from April to October. Partnerships with neighbouring tennis establishments will be implemented to provide club members and LTCD tennis school with multi-surface indoor/outdoor training opportunities throughout the year.

Only 3 out of 30,000 tennis courts in France are made with natural turf (one in Paris, one at the England Embassy and two at the Racing Lagardère). The Lawn Tennis Club de Deauville will be the first and unique natural turf tennis club in France and the only one in Europe (the existing clubs are reserved to club membres) to be open to players of any level. It will actually host, beyond its members and tennis school :
- Professional players in June, having been participating to the Roland Garros competition or training for Wimbledon
- The best French and Norman young players in the framework of the partnership convention with the FFT and the “Ligue de Normandie”. High-level training will be organized to prepare the best French players to turf field competitions.
- Young license holders of the “Ligue de Normandie” provided with access to the Club under preferential conditions.
- FFT and surrounding European countries’ license holders that benefit from several adapted offers
- French and foreign tourists, occasional players. Short- or long-term formulas are proposed.
- Companies that may organize public relation events and innovative sport challenges.
