From Sat 21 October to Sun 26 November - Différents lieux de Deauville

Planche(s) Contact Festival - Copie

Created in 2010, Planche(s) contact presents the works of photographers invited in residence in Deauville to match their photographic universe with the city.

This festival, year after year, arouses and associates the crossed perspectives of renowned photographers, emerging photographers and students attending the major European photography schools.
This year, Planche(s) Contact has left “carte blanche” to seven photographers - Bernard Descamps, Joakim Eskildsen, Maia Flore, Laurence Leblanc, Patrick Tourneboeuf, Paolo Verzone, Anna Broujean and to Archisable, a singular project conceived by Martine Tina-Dassault, combining architecture and photography. All of them have been invited to unleash their talent and express their own vision of Deauville. The works produced during this public order will be associated to the photographs of a new promising generation, including ten students in photography, working on the same subject. Two of them will be awarded with the support of the Roederer Foundation.
All these perspectives, as different and varied as the photographic techniques implemented, represent colour or black-and-white landscapes or portraits, photo-reportages, narrations or fictions. Every year, they provide a renewed overview of what a city may be, expressing the diversity of its settings, of its emblematic or unknown areas, of its events and rhythms, of its inhabitants and visitors.
The program also includes – for the first time this year – a monumental exhibition on the beach of Deauville of Peter Knapp’s photographs; a photographic contest open to everybody - THE MONDAINE 25th HOUR and a OFF festival made up of 17 exhibitions.
