Cultural Season - Rachid Ouramdane - Tordre

Two dancers perform together or separately, with all their energy. TORDRE, staging confidences in a patient and delicate way, is a double choreographic portrait created in 2014 by Rachid Ouramdane, dancer and choreographer, new director of the Centre chorégraphique national de Grenoble, together with Yoann Bourgeois. TORDRE is a hypnotic dance alternating solo and duo performances. The show maliciously opens with the music of Funny Girl, the music film by William Wyler, then expands on the live version of a song by Nina Simone.
Rachid Ouramdane has been looking into the experience of the artists working with her for many years now. Lora Juodkaite, coming from Lituania, freely swirls, a personal gestural practice that she does from childhood. Annie Hanauer, from Great Britain, has a prosthetic arm, expanding her movement and being integral part of her while she dances.
