Léa Hennino

Musician

Born in 1991, Léa was admitted to the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris when she still was very young. Unanimously admitted to the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris at the age of 16, she has been collaborating with Sabine Toutain and Christophe Gaugué, and brilliantly finished her studies in June 2013. During an Erasmus exchange, Léa has also been studying with Nobuko Imai in Geneva and has been frequently participating to masterclasses with Tabea Zimmermann, Antoine Tamestit, Kim Kashkashian, Veronika Hagen. Since September 2014 Léa has been attending a soloist master at the Zhdk of Zurich (Switzerland) in order to refine her technique under English viola player Lawrence Power.

Enrichened by several encounters, Léa won the first prize and the SACEM prize at the European contest for young soloists in Luxembourg and became a laureate of Fondation Meyer and of Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe. She also obtained the 2nd prize at the National contest for young viola players and the 3rd prize at the Wolfgang Marschner International contest in Germany.

Léa was invited to play in France and abroad, especially at the Easter Festival of Aix-en-Provence, the Chamber music festival of Besançon, the Groba Festival, the Chamber music festival of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the Moments Musicaux de la Baule, the Cordes-sur-ciel, the Amsterdam Cello Biennale, the Easter and Musical August Festival of Deauville, the EMCY Stars of tomorrow Tour, the Landau Musiktage Festival, the Fränkische Musiktage Alzenau, the Norwegian Youth Chamber Music Festival. She has recently played the complete quintets for two violas by Mozart during a European tour together with Renaud Capucon, Alina Ibragimova, Gérard Caussé and Clemens Hagen. She has also collaborated with the Modigliani quartet, Francois Salque, Edgar Moreau, Boris Garlitsky, Nicholas Angelich, Gauthier Capuçon, Marco Rizzi, Pierre Fouchenneret, Torleif Thedéen.

Léa will shortly perform with the Ensemble les Dissonances at the Theatre du Balcon, the Easter Festival of Aix-en-Provence, the Easter Festival of Deauville, the Rencontres Musicales d'Evian, the Music Festival in Alvrey, the Norvegian Youth Chamber Music Festival.

An album dedicated to Mendelssohn and recorded in 2014 in Deauville was released by B Records.
