Since its creation, the “Books & Music Festival” support young readers and pays tribute to youth literature. Young readers will find several reasons to enjoy in a personalized program suitable to readers of all ages!

AN AREA FORBIDDEN TO ADULTS
As children love staying in their “own” room at home, they love the area reserved to them during the Festival, at the heart of the International Centre of Deauville. Specialized bookshops, youth publishers, venues for debates, workshops: all means are deployed to make young people re(discover) reading.

PRIZE OF TEENAGERS: YOUNG PEOPLE READ (THEM TOO) AND VOTE!
Who said that the words “young” and “reader” are incompatible? The “Books and Music Festival” team is proud of creating a place for teenagers. They decided to devote a day to students and created the Prize of teenagers, awarded by 2,600 of them in 2015! Supported and co-organized by the booksellers of the Leclerc cultural spaces of Normandy, this prize is a nice opportunity for all these students to strengthen their interest in reading and sharpen their critical sense. A working team selects four pieces of works, directly linked to music, of course. Students attending the last year of lower secondary school and the first year of upper secondary school start to work on this project since September. They are entitled to vote and participate to the prize awarding during the Festival: a morning rich of discussions, projections and music breaks.
