Céline Villegas is a Franco-Chilean photographer, born in Lyon in 1981 and graduated in Political science. She is a self-taught photographer, living and working in Paris, and dedicated to photography since 2013. She casts a singular gaze on reality and mainly works on portraits of seaside lands. She captures in these urban environments scenes permeated with poetry, abandoned body parts, often using colour contrasts to arise fantasy.
Her work was presented during personal exhibitions in Lebanon, Argentina or Morocco and for the 2016 edition of the Festival of the Young European Photography (Circulation(s)) in Paris. She is one of the laureates of the artistic residences proposed by the 2017 Morocco French Institute and she is currently working on a documentary about synchronized swimming in France.
